GLAD began in Seotember of 2023, with around 20 volunteers signing up at that time. To ensure quality teaching, we conducted interviews with 5 volunteer tutors per group.
Â
Two weeks before the GLAD Chat program launched, we held a training webinar for volunteer tutors covering course requirements, attendance, leadership opportunities, etc. The training was held on 2 different days to accommodate different schedules.
We held monthly, immerses students and tutors in a rich exploration of global customs, traditions, and history, with a special focus on the United States and beyond
All GLAD Tutors deepen their cultural understanding through these articles and pass their insights on to students. Senior students engage in reading comprehension to analyze cultural contexts, while junior students focus on learning new vocabulary or constructing short sentences. This initiative fosters a deep appreciation for cultural diversity while enriching students’ knowledge and language skills.
We held monthly sessions exploring STEM advancements and healthcare developments, emphasizing their global impact and applications
